WHAT IS RESPECT?

Respect is something which must be earned; it is not healthy for any person, especially a leader to get automatic respect.

What if the leader is someone unworthy of respect, should he be respected anyway?

Blind respect accorded to leaders has been the root cause of many tragedies of history.

The 'Thoughts of Samy V' were in this bullshit news report which was in the Malaysian BN controlled main stream media yesterday.

Malaysian Indian Congress wants uncalled for remarks about the country's leadership, particularly that of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, to stop.

Samy Vellu reportedly said since Abdullah was elected by the people, his mandate should be respected by all.

"Any disrespect shown to the prime minister is tantamount to showing disrespect to the people who elected him and the Barisan Nasional government," he said.

"Let us not create further damage to the BN through irresponsible statements," he said.

Samy Vellu stated that such statements were causing hindrance to the administration of the country.

"How can the prime minister and the cabinet perform when there are those who continue attacking his leadership," he said.

Samy Vellu said critics should be reminded that their actions will only hurt the BN and it would eventually signal the death of the coalition.

Samy Vellu restated the MIC's full support to the leadership of Abdullah as the prime minister and Najib Razak as his deputy.

Samy, who is out in the cold, is talking utter nonsense, was Abdullah elected by the people to be PM? NO HE WAS NOT.

Samy is obviously trying to gain marks in the BN by sucking up to Adbullah & Najib, as well as the cabinet, of which he is no longer a member.

Nescio quid dicas - I don't know what you're talking about

Excellent point, Mindful Mariner! The rakyat did not elect that misbegotten miscreant into premiership.

His so called mandate is nothing more than a shameless sham, a fanciful farce that exists in what's left of his mind.

Thanks for your comment 20 cent, it is much appreciated.

A fanciful farce indeed it is.

Delusions, illusions of grandeur, or perhaps even meandering mirages of his feeble mind
