Say NO to book banning

Yet another book
(politically unacceptable to UMNO?)
has been banned in Malaysia.

The latest banned book:
"The March To Putrajaya"
by Kim Quek

This is yet another nail in the coffin of freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

Even the freedom of thought is not encouraged in Malaysia!

What type of democratic system does Malaysia have?

It seems to more like a system stinking of dictatorial edicts, nepotism, feudalism, racism, which is run by pathetic, pigheaded, pompous, pie-in-the-sky politicians, who are a plague on Malaysia.

What is needed is more power to the people and free speech, freedom of expression, a free press and a truly democratic, open, unbiased and transparent system of governance.

These simple questions, and many more, need to be properly answered:

  • Why is Malaysia way far behind Singapore in every respect?
  • Where has all Malaysia's wealth gone to in the past half century?
  • Why is there still institutionalised racism in Malaysia?
  • Why do race and religion based political parties still thrive?
  • Why is religion so entwined with politics?
  • Why has corruption, from top to bottom, not been eradicated?

MURDEROUS MALAYSIA , MANY MURDERS MANIFESTING MALE FIDE

Getting away with murder in Malaysia is not that uncommon, if you are well connected you can get actually away with cold blooded murder in Malaysia, read the article from Asia Sentinal by clicking HERE, then you will know what goes on in Malaysia.

read also HERE

It is utterly disgusting, so shameful, undoubtedly unjust and downright despicable, but if has happened, and no doubt will continue to happen, in Malaysia while the BN / UMNO government is in power with apparent impunity and immunity!

Male Fide means:

bad faith, noun: intentional dishonest act by not fulfilling legal or contractual obligations, misleading another, entering into an agreement without the intention or means to fulfill it, or violating basic standards of honesty in dealing with others. Most states recognize what is called "implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing" which is breached by acts of bad faith, for which a lawsuit may be brought (filed) for the breach (just as one might sue for breach of contract).

bad faith noun abjection, abjectness, abscondence, apostasy, artifice, base conduct, betrayal, betrayment, breach of faith, broken faith, broken promise, collaboration, complicity, connivance, cozenage, debasement, deceit, deceitfulness, deception, defalcation, defection, delusion, delusiveness, dereliction, dereliction of duty, deviation from rectitude, deviousness, disaffection, disavowal, dishonesty, dishonor, disingenuousness, disloyalty, disobedience, double-dealing, duplicity, fallaciousness, false pretension, false swearing, falseheartedness, falseness, forswearing, fraud, fraudulency, furtiveness, guile, hypocrisy, ignominy, improbity, indiscretion, infidelity, insidiousness, insincerity, inveracity, lack of conscience, lack of fidelity, lack of principle, lack of probity, mala fides, malversation, mendaciousness, mendacity, misfeasance, misrepresentation, obliquity, perfidiousness, perfidy, pettifoggery, pretense, pretext, punic faith, recantation, recreancy, reprobacy, sedition, spuriousness, subterfuge, subversion, subversive activity, suppression of truth, surreptitiousness, traitorousness, treacherousness, treachery, turpitude, unauthenticity, unconscientiousness, underhand dealing, unfairness, unfaith, unfaithfulness, unfaithworthiness, ungenuineness, unloyalty, unsteadfastness, untrueness, untrustiness, untruthfulness, unveraciousness, unveracity, venality, violation of allegiance, violation of duty

OF BAD FAITH: Perhaps a most apt expression for BN / UMNO?

SINGAPOREAN STABBED IN THE BACK IN GENTING HOTEL

Another example of press censorship in Malaysia

A lady, Madam Teng Soon Moey, age 56 years, from Singapore, was stabbed in the back at her hotel in Genting Highlands, she was fortunate to survive.

The Malaysian media has not reported this news, I suppose they do not like news which reflects negatively on the feel-good bubble of bullshit that UMNO / BN creates.

CENSORSHIP & INTERNET FILTERING ON THE CARDS IN MALAYSIA

http://www.larrywestproductions.com

Many thanks.

P. M. Najib's shaky UMNO / BN coalition government is considering the establishment of an Internet filter, similar to China's abandoned 'Green Dam' project, a source familiar with the process reportedly told Reuters New Agency.

Read the story be clicking HERE

Of course this filtering will be in guise of protecting children by filtering out pornography, and denaying access to other sites deemed unpalatable, and perhaps suppressing religious and racial issues.

But it will really be solely to defend the ever weakening UMNO / BN regime from the bloggers' criticism and to prevent the independent media telling the truth.

Censorship has been alive and well in Malaysia, as far as the printed media goes, even National Geographic Magazine is censored by brainless idiots with black marker pens, who cover up the hint of a bare breast, or deface other innocent photos of semi naked people.

At the rate things are moving, Malaysia will degenerate into a fearfully fanciful fully fucked up nation like North Korea, present day Iran, or Burma, to name but three.

In a word, it is PATHETIC.

So there is now yet another thing to march for!!

NEVER FORGET THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE or "People Power"

PEOPLE POWER IN KUALA LUMPUR, 1st August 2009

Corazon Aquino, the former president of the Philippines whose "People Power" movement pushed out long time strongman and big time crook Ferdinand Marcos less than three years after her husband's assassination, has died at the age 76, may she rest in peace.

Those individuals, political parties, coalitions of political parties like UMNO / BN, and their leaders and followers never study history to see how such power crazy, corrupted, self enriching and greedy entities such as themselves, always will be toppled in due course.

Once the power of the people gains momentum, it cannot be stopped by the police, vigilantly groups like RELA, or even the armed forces.

That is why governments should be afraid of their people not the other way around!

"The government has no intention of abolishing the Internal Security Act (ISA), a law that has ensured stability in the country".

“The ISA is a necessary law.”

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Aziz was quoted as saying on Saturday 1st August 2009.

Yes it is a necessary law, but only for BN/ UMNO, so they can use it to oppress any opponents!

The peaceful and orderly ISA rallies of about 20,000 citizens today are an expression of people power, but they were suppressed and then roughly broken up by the riot police; when apart from heavy handed tactics and the use of tear gas and water (laced with chemicals?) cannons, in addition roads were closed and the police blocked all access to Kuala Lumpur, and there were even police road blocks as far away as Seremban, which lies over 80 kilometres to the south, and as a direct result, the police caused chaos in the suburbs as well as in in the city. Several LRT stations were also closed.

Almost 600 people including juveniles, were arrested.

Nevertheless the rallies today were a success and were another step forward for people power.

RESTORE DEMOCRACY TO MALAYSIA.

Muhyiddin comes clean on Failure of Education in Malaysia

Muhyiddin

UMNO / BN has truly failed Malaysians for over 50 years.

Even DPM Muhyiddin Yassin has admitted that after more than 50 years under the thumb of UMNO led BN coalition, that even today 20th July 2009, more than 125,000 children of school age, many of them in remote and isolated places, still were not attending school.

He was reported as saying, effort has to be taken to ensure that all children had equal access to education.

He also reportedly said, priority should be given to making available an adequate number of quality teachers to work in the rural and remote areas.

What the hell has UMNO / BN been doing during the past 50+ years?

It is obvious that they have not been caring for the people!

Manek Urai By Election: Candidates and Carrots

In 2009, UMNO (BN) will take on PAS in the Manek Urai by-election on 14th July 2009.

Candidates from theses two political parties filed their papers when nominations closed at 10:00 on Monday, 6th July 2009.

They were Mohd Fauzi Abdullah, [50], who is the PAS treasurer for Kuala Krai and Tuan Aziz Tuan Mat, [39] the Kuala Krai UMNO Youth chief (using a BN ticket), who will be going head to head against each other.

Meanwhile: Gifts to the children of the Manek Urai constituents in the form of 'aid assistance'!

Coincidence or Covertly Co-opting into Compliance?

You need to decide yourselves folks!

“The Education Ministry (i.e. the taxpayer) is providing free school uniforms and school bags to 6,142 primary, secondary and religious school students in the Manek Urai constituency.

The Kelantan State UMNO liaison chief Mustapa Mohamed said he had been informed of the 'aid allocation' for the students by Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin (and the MP for Pagoh, Johor, UMNO) some days ago.

“This gesture by the ministry is to lighten the burden of the people here,” he reportedly told a news conference at the Manek Urai BN operations centre on 5th July 2009.

'Bribery' is perhaps a more apt term, don't you think ?

Three Months of Najib!

The PM & DPM ++ and rent-a-crowd, doing the 1Malaysia Shuffle!

After three months of Najib as PM, what has substantively changed for the better in Malaysia?

The short answer is absolutely nothing.

There have been a heaps of verbal diarrhoea, bags full of hot air, lots of funny hats and ridiculous costumes worn, even dodgy dance routines, but really and truly there seems to have been no substantive progress towards ending overt racism, ensuring equality for all citizens, respecting freedom of speech, freedom of information, freedom of expression and human rights.

Malaysia has been afflicted by many multifarious mishaps over the last three months, buildings and roads have collapsed, controversies have been seen to increase, diseases such as malaria, leptospirosis and meningitis have blossomed, the Internal Security Act 1960, Emergency Ordinance (Public Order and Crime Prevention) 1969, Sedition Act 1948, Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 and many other archaic and draconian laws are still on the statute book, the Police Act also remains unchanged.

Politics seems to be getting dirtier than usual; whilst UMNO / BN show no signs of reinventing themselves for the better.
However, with the main stream media seemingly more under the thumb than ever nowadays, things may actually be even worse than they are reported, who knows.

Now in 2009, almost at the end of the first decade of the 21st Century, people can still be locked up without any judicial process, effectively guilty without trial.
How utterly shameful in what is touted as being a democratic country!

Harry Lee has come and gone after his extra warm welcome (excepting Dr. M), extensive exploration of the just the peninsular part of Malaysia, and his resulting insolent critique.

The superstitious may be forgiven for even believing there is a national curse which seems to have started when Najib became PM on 3rd April 2009.

Now in the second half of 2009, will Malaysia progress, further decline or simply stagnate under the stewardship of Najib?

Let's wait and see!!

The people of Malaysia are a patient lot, but even patience has a limit!

Penanti Oh Penanti

Election Commission in Malaysia to go by the book in Penanti, for the first time ever!

The law spelling out a list of prohibitions on polling days will be strictly enforced for the first time ever during the 31st May 2009 Penanti by-election, so the Election Commission secretary Ngah Senik, he also reportedly said, he clarified that since the law was passed in 2003, the Commission had not enforced it, “as enforcement is the prerogative of the police.”

“But this time around, we have requested for the law to be enforced”.

"Penanti will be the testing ground for it” he evidently told a media briefing in Seberang Jaya on Thursday 21st May 2009

Under the Election Offences Act:

  • No person is allowed to check the identity or names of voters in the Electoral Roll, solicit or influence them, or wait or loiter within 50 metres of polling stations.

  • No one is allowed to wear, hold or carry any form of clothing, head covering, ornament, rosette, water bottle or umbrella showing the symbol of any political party within 50m of the station.

Election campaigners found setting up booths within 50metres of polling stations risk a RM5,000 fine, jail for up to a year, or both.

“A few political parties have given their word to abide by the election rules on polling day.”

“The Penanti by-election will be a good yardstick to measure the success of enforcing this law,” Ngah reportedly said.

Is Ngah doing his job properly for the first time at this by election only because the Barisan National coalition of Najib Razak (in effect Ngah's boss) has decided not to risk a massive defeat by contesting this by election?

One can but wonder.

Shame on Malaysia – it's federal government seems to support the Burmese dictatorship

Burma's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi will protest her innocence when she goes on trial today, 18 May 2009, on trumped up charges in a Rangoon kangaroo court.

On Sunday, 17 May 2009, the Philippines added to the wave of condemnation, saying it was "outraged" by Mrs Suu Kyi's treatment, joining Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore among Burma's regional neighbours and ASEAN members in speaking out.

What about Malaysia?

By their collective silence, Najib's cabinet seems to be siding with the Burmese dictators.

One cannot help but think UMNO and the BN leaders are envious of the tyrannical junta who rule Burma with an iron fist.

How they must wish they could do the same in Malaysia!

Does Najib support the law of revenge [lex talionis]?

What about ASEAN?

Burma (Myanmar) should be immediately expelled from ASEAN and not allowed to join again until a semblance of democracy is restored.

Malaysian Police Seize Opposition DVDs

Are the Malaysian police playing politics again?

It sure looks like it, judge for yourselves by reading the report in the Straits Times HERE

Malaysian police seized DVDs used by the opposition to campaign for upcoming special elections, party officials said on Monday 30th March 2009, this is another example of an ongong crackdown on any political opposition or dissent.

Police seized 30 DVDs at an opposition campaign rally and detained an opposition official late on Sunday 29th March 2009 in northern Perak state, Ngeh Koo Ham, a Perak opposition legislator said.

An opposition leader Lim Kit Siang said the action was 'the latest example of the increasing intolerance toward fundamental liberties like freedom of speech, thought and expression in Najib's Malaysia'.

The DVD showed clips of opposition state assemblymen being barred by the police from holding a meeting at the Perak state legislature after Barisan Nasional gained control of the state administration from the Pakatan Rakyat.

The district police chief Azisman Alias has reportedly denied the police had any political motivation, saying the government's film censorship board has not approved the DVDs for public distribution.

BEWARE - MALAYSIA IS AS CORRUPT AS EVER

IN MALAYSIA CORRUPTION IS ALIVE AND THRIVING

HOW SHAMEFUL!

MALAYSIA IS WALLOWING IN THE DOLDRUMS OF CORRUPTION

Malaysia’s score in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has not improved again this year, according to a survey conducted by Transparency International.

LINKS:

TI Malaysian Chapter HERE

TI HERE

TI CPI HERE

The country remains in the stinking cesspit of bribery and corruption.

The UNMO / BN federal government has obliviously failed miserably to stem the evils of bribery and corruption; in fact these evils are flourishing in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s ranking declined to 47th out of 180 countries in 2008, compared to 43rd out of 179 countries in 2007.

Transparency International said that this showed that some countries had made better progress than Malaysia. In other words Malaysia has made no progress at all, but has,in fact, further deteriorated!

“The country’s CPI score remained at 5.1, the same as in 2007. The score for Malaysia for the last eight years since 2001 had been between 4.9 (2002) and 5.1 (2005, 2007, 2008).”

“This shows that the trend of the CPI for Malaysia has remained mediocre at mid-point, with no improvement over the last eight years,” said the TI statement.

A pathetic performance Malaysia, Singapore scored 9.2 and was 4th out of 180 countries worldwide.

Shameful third-world detention facilities in Kuala Lumpur

Raja Petra's wife and daughters visited him at the national police HQ in Kuala Lumpur, these are her notes of the visit.

Source HERE where you can see the comments made

Dated 16th September 2008

"My two girls and I managed to see RPK at 11:00am this morning (16 September) at the Bukit Aman Police HQ.

He has been sleeping on a wooden platform without any pillow or bedding. He looked drawn and drained but still alert.

I started informed him that the support he has at home and abroad is keeping us strong and that should be enough for him too to continue to be strong. I also told him that the Pakatan Raykat has the numbers to form the next government and it is just a matter of time that we would soon get him out.

He has lost weight and his sugar level has dived from 8 to 4. I urged him to eat and to drink a lot of water. In fact we brought him his favorites: a 6-pack coke, chocolates, fresh plums, shepherd’s pie and caramel custard. Raja Petra asked us to take them back. He said that those interrogating him would try to use these food items as inducements to get him to co-operate. RPK said he did not want to be beholden to them. They will use favours they grudgingly grant and use these as trade offs.

He complained that the food supplied is such that our two cats will not even eat. But I encouraged him that despite that, he has to eat. He replied that he has no appetite and that most of the time he is tired as they are interrogating him incessantly. They come to his cell (8X8 concrete box without windows) and harass him at all hours of the day and night taking hourly turns having a video camera at all times. One time they brought a prayer mat and the Koran to his cell and just said so you don’t want this and took it away recording all this.

Sometimes they just come to the cell every half hourly to peep into his cell with the loud clicking of the peep hole keeping him awake. They are interrogating him on all his articles and at this stage it is on his articles on Islam. They said he has no right to write about Islam because we (his family) don’t live like Muslims and they were not sure whether we prayed or not as how all good Muslims should.

During our visit a video camera was trained on us all the time that I was with RPK. There were always two officers in the room with us for the whole duration. When an officer came in to tell us that we had 10 minutes left, I took the opportunity to brief him on all the happenings related to his being in the ISA...

Teresa Kok arrested; the reporter arrested and then released after 16 hours; the candlelight vigils at Bukit Aman, Bloghouse and Dewan Sri Penang. I told him that he has made history on the ISA issue that the even the Barison Nasional component partners, Gerakan, MCA, PPP and some Ministers and even Zaid Ibrahim has resigned over the wrongful use of the ISA, about the awesome crowd at Kelana Jaya Stadium last night and about the Free RPK banners around the stadium and how the crowd of about 20,000 chanted ‘bebaskan RPK’ .

I also told him that I was going to the lawyer’s office after our visit to file habeas corpus and to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Press Conference at 2pm on the cross overs.

I informed him that our team of lawyers will be seeing him on Thursday at 11am, but the police called my lawyers in the afternoon and changed the time to 10am tomorrow."

(Emphasis mine)

How shameful that the police detain people in inhuman conditions, is this the Islamic way?

Malaysia certainly is still well and truly a third-world banana-republic, where there is zero respect for human rights, very limited freedom of speech, no freedom of assembly or expression.

Detainees are intimidated, tortured and abused in 21st century Malaysia.

How shameful this is!

When the new government under Pakatan Rakyat takes over, there needs to be urgent legal reforms to do away with such abuses of power.

WHITHER UMNO / BN?

CONSOLIDATING, OR GOING DOWN?

A Fairy Story about UMNO on the BERNAMA website HERE

It was also in the NSTP

Consolidation Process Taking Shape

‘Consolidation process taking place in UMNO

By Ahmad Fuad Yahya

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- After a period of unease following the March 8 general election, Umno is seeing winds of change blowing it towards rehabilitation and consolidation’------------------- Blaah blaah blaah.`

Now another, more believable, tale:

THE UM-NO SHIP IS UNSTABLE AND SINKING FAST

By Vox Poluli

Once upon a time, there was a 50 year old ship called ‘UM-NO’, or to be more correct ‘UM-NO-BA-RU’.

The UN-MO ship is not only rotten to the core it is also unstable and will doubtless capsize and sink very soon.

This is because, when the deadweight, or deadwood, it too high up, the stability is reduced.

On board UM-NO not only is there a lot of useless deadwood at the top, there are also a lot of big-headed pompous buffoons of immense size who are full of shit, and they keep moving about aimlessly talking cock, thus rocking the UM-NO boat from side to side.

Maintenance is either non-existent, or just superficial, as is the norm in Malaysia, thus there are numerous rotting components resulting in leaks, and water is entering much faster than it can be baled out.

Pissing into the wind by many of the not so bright UM-NO crew has only added to the internal problems.

The narcoleptic coxswain, Dul-lah Bad, is unaware of any problems, and is steering the UM-NO ship in ever decreasing circles. He has been subject to the ‘Emperors-new-clothes treatment’ and is living a life of fantasy in a dream-world castle, where everything in the garden in lovely, located in a mystical quiet place called Put-ra-ja-ya.

The assistant coxswain, a self-centred nervous fellow with pink lips, named An-jib is hovering about watching from the sidelines, trying to clear his own yardarm, also he is busy keeping a weather eye open for the approaching typhoon Madhatter .

The UM-NO ship is sinking fast, and will take all B-N components, (which are a few sampans tied astern of the UM-NO ship), down with it.

The ship, house & home keeper, a bald fat guy called Amid A bar, can do nothing but indulge in meaningless circumlocution, to try divert attention from his own inadequacies.

The remainder of the crew are a varied bunch of desperadoes.

There will be a few enlightened ones who jump overboard, and seek safe refuge elsewhere; however the rest will sink with the UM-NO Ship & B-N component sampans

With their over-inflated egos, which may help to keep them afloat, there is a chance not all will go down with the UN-MO ship & B-N component sampans.

Some may escape to overseas bolt-holes, and live a life of lonely luxury in exile in delightful safe havens such as Zimbabwe, North Korea, Burma, etc.

Any survivors stranded on Malaysia’s shore, will be investigated, and if found guilty, will have to face their just deserts.

Everyone else in Malaysia will live happily ever after.

The only remaining race in Malaysia will be the noble Malaysians, all members of the human race!
