A Gesture of Love

In this time of selfishness, greed, hypocrisy, corruption, nepotism, cronyism, racial and religious discrimination, when lies, deception and cheating are more often than not norms.

When there is too little love and too much hate, when there is bias and favouritism, crime without punishment and punishment without crime.

Take a look at this short video and reflect on important issues affecting everyone, and vow to do something to make things better.

And please remember this too:

Als die Nazis-(1945) by Rev. Martin Niemöller

Als die Nazis die Kommunisten holten,

habe ich geschwiegen;

ich war ja kein Kommunist.

Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,

habe ich geschwiegen;

ich war ja kein Sozialdemokrat.

Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,

habe ich nicht protestiert;

ich war ja kein Gewerkschafter.

Als sie die Juden holten,

habe ich geschwiegen;

ich war ja kein Jude.

Als sie mich holten,

gab es keinen mehr, der protestierte.

English Translation:

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not protest;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to protest.

Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)

Pure Unadulterated Talent

Maybe you haven't seen and heard this lady sing yet?

I am certain you will enjoy listening to this wonderful lady Susan Boyle from Scotland, singing "I Dreamed A Dream' in "Britain's Got Talent" which was broadcast from Glasgow recently.

It proves that to be a success and to have something really special, anyone's age, good looks and wealth are not important.

Enjoy the heart moving experience.

It is pure, divine and a joy to behold, unadulterated by anything.
The world would be a far better place with more wonderful people like the honest, humble and selfless Susan Boyle.

Click HERE to listen for yourself, you will be glad you did so.

Sing on Susan! Your dream has come true at long last!

THOUGHTS TO DIGEST DURING THE PRE-ELECTION PERIOD

RELEVENT QUOTES

"In a time of national deceit, telling the TRUTH becomes a revolutionary act"
George Orwell

"In matters of style, swim with the current.
In matter of PRINCIPLE, stand like a rock."

Thomas Jefferson

"There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall....think of it ALWAYS."
Mahatma Ghandi

from the Bard Robbie Burns, a wee memo to the pompous, the arrogant, the proud and the self important:-

Epigram—The Toad-eater

"OF Lordly acquaintance you boast,

And the Dukes that you dined wi’ yestreen,

Yet an insect’s an insect at most,

Tho’ it crawl on the curl of a Queen!"

ONLY THOSE WHO RISK GOING TOO FAR CAN POSSIBLY FIND OUT HOW FAR THEY CAN GO.........T. S. Eliot

and also from T S Eliot, The Wisdom of Humility:

“Do not let me hear

Of the wisdom of old men, but rather of their folly,

Their fear of fear and frenzy, their fear of possession,

Of belonging to another, or to others, or to God.

The only wisdom we can hope to acquire

is the wisdom of humility: humility is endless.”

The Wisdom of Humility

The following few lines from T. S. Eliot’s Four Quartets, have great meaning in the present day world.

These days one sees far too much arrogance, misplaced pride, dubious honour, boastfulness and self glorification.

Humility, selflessness, service before self and other noble virtues seem to be thin on the ground.

Wise up folks, reading these few lines written by T. S. Elliot may help educate those who are self-centred and proud.

The world will be a far better place to live in if you are humble.

Do not let me hear

Of the wisdom of old men, but rather of their folly,

Their fear of fear and frenzy, their fear of possession,

Of belonging to another, or to others, or to God.

The only wisdom we can hope to acquire

Is the wisdom of humility: humility is endless.
