"Without free speech no search for truth is possible... no discovery of truth is useful... Better a thousandfold abuse of free speech than denial of free speech. The abuse dies in a day, but the denial slays the life of the people, and entombs the hope of the race."

- Charles Bradlaugh

"There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them. "

- Joseph Alexandrovitch Brodsky, 1991, Russian-American poet, b. St. Petersburg and exiled 1972 (1940-1996)

Censorship of the Internet, Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes, but no, but yes!

P M Najib says No”, Rais says “Yes, but only for pornography”

Read the crap, click HERE

The big question is: 'Can they be believed?'

Of course the answer is NO!

These UNMO / BN fellas are politicians of the basic kind; they more often than not speak bullshit, untruths, half truths, emit hectolitres of verbal diarrhoea and excel in talking absolute cock, such are the tools of their trade.

I personally would not trust any of them as far as my rubber-gloved hands could throw them.

Let us wait and see, they have blocked web sites before, but just for a while because there is always a way to overcome selective blocking and censorship of the Internet.

Books of course are easier to control, and book banning is alive and well in Malaysia, under the the Home Ministry's ever virtuous 'Publication Control Division and Al-Quran Text Division' which has banned 397 books in the last nine years. Of these, 190 books contained materials that 'could jeopardise public order', (what ever that is supposed to mean?) whilst the other 207 book titles contained 'immoral content', (what ever that is supposed to mean?)

WHO IS LYING, WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH?

Is it this dubious character, who is giving us all the finger?

or

the newspaper reporters?

I trust the word of the news reporters, far more than Ahmad Ismail's.

Now it is reported that Ahmad Ismail will take legal action against Sin Chew Daily for publishing a story that portrayed him as a racist.

"The publication has put me in a bad light and I will not tolerate it. To clear my name, I will initiate legal proceedings against Sin Chew Daily."

SANFU, in Malaysia the whistle-blowers, the messenger, and the truthful are usually punished.

The corrupt, the liars, the cheaters, the swindlers, and all types of assorted crooks, usually escape scot-free!!

Please, all reporters, report the truth without fear of favour.
Do not be subservient to anyone, especially politicians.

Malaysiakini reports HERE

Journalists:

The portal was blocked on Aug 27 after Internet Service Providers in the country received notices from the commission to ban the website.

The move by the commission sparked debate because under the Multimedia Super Corridor Malaysia 10-Point Bill of Guarantees, the Government promised to “ensure no Internet censorship.” UNQUOTE

Najib Talks More Crap in London

An Artist's Impression of Najib, Talking Crap as per Usual

D P M Najib Razak reportedly said in London, where he is frittering away tax-payers money together with his wife and a herd of ball carriers, that the cost-cutting measures announced by the P M showed that the government was willing to share the burden in facing price hikes along with the people.

What the hell is he prattling on about?
The 'government's money' is the peoples' money!

"It will not be appropriate or fair for the people alone to face this, as the Government has also taken the responsibility to reduce expenditure with its cost-cutting measures,” he told journalists in London before attending the Commonwealth Mini Summit.

Najib called on Malaysians to change their mindset and seek alternative sources of energy, and not just rely on petrol. He said they could consider electric cars.

What a clown Najib is!

Pray tell us Najib, where to buy electric cars in Malaysia , apart from golf buggies?

If such electric cars are indeed available, then pray tell us ignorant peasants how much they cost!

What utter bullshit, verbal diarrhoea and pathetic patronising prattle from this pompous prick!

"Where do politicians (like Najib) come from?

Why, they come from Uranus!"

Is the PM sincere, or just waffling?

Knee-jerk reaction package has been proposed, yesterday, Tuesday 25 March 2008. which is supposed to ease the ever increasing burden faced by low-income poverty stricken Malaysians.

According to media reports Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, now in his second term as Prime Minister, has unveiled a reactive package of measures supposedly formulated to alleviate the intolerable burden of rapidly spiralling costs of basic essentials faced by low as well as middle income Malaysians.

Firstly the government aims to mitigate the impact of rising world prices for lower income households and limit the wastage and losses caused by subsidies.

Secondly, the government would review the implementation of its economic plans to ensure that its benefits would touch the lives of those who needed them the most.

Thirdly, the government would continue its work towards reducing wide income gaps between and within ethnic groups while ensuring fairness for all Malaysians.

Other priority areas for his second term as PM were said to be to drastically reduce crime, step up the battle against corruption, support reforms of the judiciary and ensure a fair number of places of worship for Malaysians of all religions.

Is this more hot air, lies, and play-acting which the public have become so accustomed to hearing and seeing during Abdullah’s first term as PM?

Even if he is being sincere and honest, it a really a case of TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!

In another news report Adbullah admitted he had not moved fast enough in pushing through reforms which he had promised to undertake, and said the result of the general election was a strong message to him, that he had not done so.

Wow at last he seems to realise he was given a hard slap by the voters for lying and being incompetent!

"I thank the Malaysian people for this message. Point well made and point taken," he said .

"During the last elections, we lost the cyber-war. The young people were looking at SMSs, Internet and other tools to get information."

"We did not think that it was important to respond to them. It was a serious misjudgement. It was a very serious mistake on our part."

"It is my intention to respond to the young people and their enthusiasm. We have no other choice but to respond to the message as swiftly as we can.”

It is not only the young people who deserted him and BN, does he realise this fact? Perhaps not!

He said he now intended to implement a bold agenda for addressing the concerns of the people as expressed through the ballot box.

Abdullah said the Government was ready to change and address the people's concerns and grievances.

He said that the Government would work with honesty, integrity and zero tolerance of corruption.

"I believe we have the means to do well. We are working very hard. We are ready to rectify our mistakes. It is important for us to do it," he added.

Well, well, well, a very late, but nevertheless welcome admission of non-performance, tardiness and incompetence, that is somewhat refreshing, but will henceforth see any positive changes, or will we only experience the status quo or just more and more‘talk’?

Decisive, bold, sincere and effective action will be needed, and it must be implemented across the board relentlessly without fear or favour.

Then and only then all Malaysians may see some positive benefits from it.

It is once again TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!

Khir Toyo, Lies! Lies! Lies and more lies!

BUT WHO IS TELLING THEM?

Out of work dentist, and former MB Khir Toyo finally broke his three-day silence last night, denying that he had coerced eight PAS state assemblymen into joining Barisan Nasional to form a new State government.

Khir Toyo

According to news reports, Mohamad Khir, ex dentist, and now ex MB of Selangor, has also denied signing a contract with Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd on the eve of Saturday’s polling and also denied ordering the shredding and removing official documents from the Menteri Besar’s office at Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah building.

He said:

We (BN) have collectively decided to stay on the opposition side because we have to help the people here. However, we will be with Selangor folk all the way. They will get all the benefits promised.”

We have nothing to hide, we are very transparent. These stories of taking out documents in boxes or even in lorries are all old stories,” said Khir, adding that the new State government line-up had nothing to worry as “everything is in order”.

“I have all the details on Selangor (ready). Do not make up this kind of false stories. We do not have any reason to lie,” he said.

Mohamad Khir, who is the Selangor BN chairman, also denied signing any contract with Puncak Niaga on the eve of the General Election.

“No. I never signed anything. I know what I’m doing, he said.

See Malay Mail front-page article of 13 March 2008 HERE

REUTERS reported yesterday that Puncak Niaga had secured a water contract with the former Selangor government to allow the company to operate the Sungai Sireh water treatment plant.

Regarding the fate of the State government’s subsidiary companies, Mohamad Khir said this would depend on the new line-up.

Mr & Mrs 'Evil Keneval' KT, sans helmets

Khir Toyo's signature, for what it is worth!

He also said:

“I hope they will take good care of the companies which are all making profits.
They cannot misuse the resources because I have a copy of all the relevant documents,” Khir said he was confident of winning the State back in the next four years.

“We (BN / UMNO) will also make sure that they (the State Government) practice good governance and if they ignore racial sensitivities, we will make sure action is taken,” Khir said, adding that “he will not allow any party to destroy what BN has built.”

He added: BN would make sure that the promises in the manifestos by the coalition of opposition parties would be carried out and not end up as empty promises.”

Such big arrogant empty talk and threats from a small very insignificant man.

Khir Toyo seems to forget that he is a Mr. Nobody in Selangor now, merely the head of the Selangor BN opposition; his own head is so big that perhaps the swelling will take a while to shrink.

Getting rid of his pomposity, pretension, arrogance, greed and selfishness will likely be a longer term project, but If investigations show he was responsible for ordering the removal, retention and / or the destruction of State Government files, documents, data or anything else, he should be immediately arrested and charged, tried and if found guilty, a spell in jail may help to speed this process up.

Henceforth, let’s just totally ignore what the pretentious petty preacher has to say.

See malaysiakini report HERE for more tales of Tiny Toyo.

TRUTH OR BOVINE EXCRETA?

The Malaysian National News Agency [BERNAMA]

BERNAMA could that be an acronym for-
Bringing Every Reader News Articles Manipulated Always?

"Election and Democracy in Malaysia

Rashidah Abd Ghani, Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, Fri:15 Feb.2008

“The general election will see 10.9 million voters exercising their right to choose a government under the nation’s democratic system.

Nomination day falls on Feb 24, followed by polling day on March 8.

The general election gives the people the right to choose elected representatives, from candidates nominated by political parties or those who stand as independents, in Parliament or the Dewan Rakyat at federal level and the State Legislative Assembly.

The political party which wins the majority of seats in the Dewan Rakyat will form the government at federal level, while the political party which secures the majority of seats in the State Assembly will helm the state government.

Election is an important aspect in a country which practices the system of democracy, like Malaysia.

The election process in Malaysia is handled by an independent body known as the Election Commission (EC), which normally, introduces several changes in every election.

For the current general election, it will be the use of transparent ballot Since gaining independence five decades ago, world leaders have sung praises of Malaysia’s ability to sustain democracy through fair elections.

Such praise, coupled with congratulatory messages which Malaysia normally receives after every general election, reflects the confidence of the world leaders in its election system.

Among world leaders who have praised Malaysia are United States President George W. Bush, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, as well as leaders of ASEAN member countries.

Social activist Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye has expressed confidence that the coming general election would be more transparent, following measures taken by the EC.

The freedom given to the people to choose their candidates and the acceptance of the result of a general election by all quarters, are indications of a democratic process.

Lee said the introduction of transparent boxes, indelible ink and absence of serial numbers on ballot papers, showed there was democracy in the process. Democracy in Malaysian elections is also evident, with there being no bloodshed, unlike in some countries.
According to Lee, despite stiff competition among political parties contesting for seats, the election process was carried out smoothly as all quarters make an effort to ensure the election was carried out peacefully.” — BERNAMA

NOTE: The 'bolding' of the font and underlining above, is mine.

There is a need to very carefully read between the lines when reading BERNAMA articles and the one above is no exception.

Note the reference to “the nation’s democratic system” or as it has been called before by some ‘democracy Malaysian style’, this Malaysian form of democracy it not really democracy at all, it is more like a benevolent dictatorship-authoritarian style of one party governance.

Note the reference to Election and Democracy in Malaysia, and the Election Commission being as “independent body”, this independence is debatable, if past actions are any measure of the independence of the Malaysian EC.

Note the reference to supposedly congratulatory messages by so called ‘world leaders’ Bush, Blair & Koizumi.

Note that the local personality mentionedLee Lam Thye has expressed confidence’
LLT has been called a turncoat and he now known to be a strong supporter of the Barisan National, in short LLT is a loyal BN ‘yes-man’. His expressed confidence, means that the voters have a very good reason to be concerned!

Is LLT still a social activist?
Nowadays LLT is more like an active Barisan Nationist?

Transparent ballot boxes, third-world style marking fingers with indelible ink, the absence of ballot paper serial numbers, and the lack of bloodshed, do not make an election free, fair and transparent.

There are known cases of persons, especially those within the armed forces, who may have multiple voter registrations, using both their civilian identity card number and their armed forces identity card number, and perhaps a postal vote as well, and many other discrepancies have been highlighted.

Note the references to ‘indications of a democratic process’. Mere indications, are certainly not proof of a free and fair democratic process.

Having read between the lines, my opinion is that the above article is pure and unadulterated spin, propaganda, misinformation or whatever you may like to call it,

I would prefer classify this article, entitled:

Election and democracy in Malaysia"

as,

A HEAP OF PURE BULLSHIT

SAY NO TO BULLSHIT,

SAY NO TO YES-MEN!

SAY YES TO FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS, TRUE DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, HUMAN RIGHTS, EQUALITY & NON-DISCRIMINATION,
