INCREDIBLE INDELIBLE EXPENSIVE INDIAN INK

INDIAN INDELIBLE INK over RM 42.55 per bottle [assuming that it is RM 2 Milion for 47,000 bottles, not RM 2 million per bottle!!]

47,000 bottles of ink to be used in the general election have arrived from India

The Election Commission (EC) has bought in 47,000 bottles of the black ink, which will be distributed to the states by next week.

The indelible ink, costing over RM2mil, will make its first appearance in a general election here.

It will be applied on the left forefinger just before a person casts the ballot and is said to stay on the finger for at least two weeks.

Kamaruzaman also reminded women to remove their nail polish before going to the polls on March 8, as it would be difficult to apply the ink otherwise.

ROOM FOR ELECTION FRAUD HERE?

Matt transparent nail varnish could be used?

PROFITEERING POSSIBILITIES?

At over RM 2,000,000 for this ink from India, it is quite likely that those involved in buying it made handsome ‘profits’.

Add to this the very 'costly' transparent ballot boxes.

THIRD WORLD MINDSET?

The use of this indelible ink, and also the transparent ballot boxes are not prerequisites for free and fair elections, they are only window dressing, a thin veneer, pretence.

THE EC WILL HAVE TO DO A LOT MORE THAN COSMETIC CHANGES, IF THE ELECTIONS IN MALAYSIA ARE TO BE SEEN AS TRULY FREE AND FAIR.

It is better to stain the finger rather than the nail only because if some smart Alec applies some mold release agent or something like 'Armor All' onto the nail then the ink would not stick and can most probably be removed easily. To prevent fraud, it is better to stain at least 1 inch of the finger that most countries using such ink practise.
