ZAID IBRAHIM SAYS: ISA HAS BEEN & IS BEING USED WRONGLY

The Internal Security Act (ISA) should not be used against civilians, de facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim said.

The Internal Security Act should only be used against terrorists or those trying to topple the Government by force, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said at a press conference at his home in Kota Bharu, on Sunday 14th September 2008.

He was commenting on the recent arrests of three people, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng, under the ISA.

Coming from a Minister, this is ground-breaking, a breath of fresh air amid an UMNO midden of filth emitting the foul stench of lies, misinformation, racial slurs, and innuendos.
