MALAYSIAN BOXER BEATEN & SLASHED BY MEN IN BLACK– JEALOUSY &/or RACISM?

Perabagaran

The Star had a rather brief and toned down report, click HERE

A more detailed report can be read by clicking HERE

Extract:

Mr Perabagaran said the men, all dressed in black, gloated about the attack and asked him: 'With your condition like this, how are you going to go to the SEA Games, do you think there are no boxers in Kuala Lumpur who are better qualified than you?'

'I feel these people were jealous because I was selected for the SEA Games ... It was also sad that nobody from the National Sports Council came to visit me in the hospital,' he added.

It may well have been jealousy, I certainly hope there was no racial element in this despicable incident.

Questions also need to be asked why the Malaysian National Sports Council ignored Perabagan's plight.

This incident brings shame to sports and also to Malaysia.

I suppose it will just be swept under the carpet as is usually the case!

MALAYSIAN POLITICS & FOOTBALL DO NOT MIX

Is there any potential here?

Here is the proof!

Malaysia stagnated in 152nd spot, behind Thailand (115), Singapore(127), Indonesia (133), Myanmar (145) and Vietnam (146).

In the latest FIFA ranking (January 2009) recently released by football’s World governing body, Malaysia lingered lethargically at 152nd spot with 123 points.

Malaysia’s best ever place in the FIFA ranking was 75th spot, way way back in 1993, the first year the World footballing body began ranking its members.

Meanwhile, Malaysia lost 0-1 to Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadisiya in a friendly held in Dammam early this morning. 3rd September 2009.

What a disgrace!

Unless politics is kept out of all sports, Malaysian sports will always be shamefully pathetic, becalmed in the doldrums of failure and ruffled by the imperceptible eddy currents of corruption.

Ecce signum

Behold the proof
