'Bachabaze' [Playing with Boys] in Afghanistan

Playing with Boys

So called, 'Muslim' men, exploiting the defenceless, the poor and the vulnerable, by using them as toys for sexual abuse!

Is this what rigid religious restrictions encourage people to do?

Bacha Bazi (Persian: بچه بازی literally "child’s play"), also known as bacchá ' (from the Persian bacche بچه‌ "child, young man, calf") is a practice recognized as sexual slavery and child prostitution.

Un-Islamic Football Jerseys

ENGLAND

KOSMO! a Malaysian tabloid rag popular amongst the Malay Language readers, which is well known for homing in on sensational news, recently carried a report about Muslims who wear football jerseys which display images of crosses, liquor brands and devils.

Johor Religious Council adviser Nooh Gadot reportedly said wearing such jerseys was forbidden in Islam.

“It is as if Muslims are worshipping and exalting the symbols of other religions. Islam does not compromise on this matter, regardless of whether it is worn for fun, fashion or sport,” he said.

Perak Mufti Harussani Zakaria was reported to have agreed with Nooh, saying, although Islam did not forbid its followers from participating in sports or dressing up, it has to be done within the boundaries of Islamic law.

Among the football teams whose crests carry images of the cross are England, Brazil, Portugal, Serbia, Barcelona and Norway, while Manchester United carries the “Red Devil” on its crest.

Malaysia seems to be becoming more like Iran with each passing week.

What next, goons going around spotting 'non-Islamic hair styles' and cutting the hair of transgressors?

BARCELONA

How utterly stupid and pathetic, have the religious authorities nothing better to do than concentrate on such trivia?

How about them getting stuck into reducing the high incidences of rape, incest, drug addition, anti-social behaviour, abandoning of new-born babies etc., all of which are, as is common knowledge and which has been extensively reported in Malaysian news media, more common amongst the Malays, who are Muslims, than among others in Malaysia?

Utterly Pathetic Stupidity!

Has Religion Made Useful Contributions to Civilization?

By Bertrand Russell

My own view on religion is that of Lucretius. I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race. I cannot, however, deny that it has made some contributions to civilization. It helped in early days to fix the calendar, and it caused Egyptian priests to chronicle eclipses with such care that in time they became able to predict them. These two services I am prepared to acknowledge, but I do not know of any others.

CANING OF WOMEN IN MALAYSIA. Malaysian Government further reins in media coverage

Now that the Star has shown a 'nauseating yellow streak', the new colour scheme as shown above may be more appropriate for their logo

Marina Mahathir decides to post her column on her blog after newspaper (The Star Malaysia) paper spikes her column

The Malaysia government reportedly has moved to restrict debate in the mainstream media on the caning of three Muslim women recently.

The country's largest English-Language newspaper (The Star) has refused to publish Marina Mahathir's regular column (Musings) on the issue of caning women.

An extract:

Folks, I'm posting here what should have been my Musings column tomorrow. The Star has refused to publish it because, after what happened to P. Gunasegaram's article which was pulled out after the Home Ministry gave them a show-cause letter, they don't want any 'sensitive' articles that may jeopardise their KDN permit.”

'Malay Provocation'

Article entitled “Malay Provocation” 19 January 2009

From the New York Times, read it in full by clicking HERE

“One ought to be able to laugh at the absurdity of it.

But the message is one of ignorance, religious and racial prejudice and political opportunism......................................”

The story is sad, but, alas, the majority of open-minded folks will agree that it is factual.

It seems that Malaysian Unity is in Decline

This informative and revealing interview casts dark shadows over freedoms in Malaysia

Watch and listen to this interesting interview from the Al Jazeera English programme “Inside Story”.

Please listen to it carefully and clear-headedly and judge for yourself who speaks the most sense. The body-language tell a story too. LINK

One of the panel is 100% reading from a script and seems to be incapable of speaking knowledgeably about the issue, or perhaps is even totally ignorant of the facts.

One could be excused for labelling the ABIM [VP Khairul Faiz Morat) representative as acting an inherently stupid stooge, as he is clearly incapable of taking part in the interview properly.

It seems obvious that this issue is more a political and racial issue rather than a truly religious one.

Is '1 Malaysia' is a political, rather than a racially harmonious concept? It sure seems to be based on what is happening up to now in Malaysia.

Allah - One God

29_46
Source: quran.com,

The ignorant evil ones in Malaysia are showing that they are not true Muslims.

Allah is the One God of the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims, His name is not owned by the Malays or any other race.

As is written the Holy Qur'an:

"... And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our Allah and your Allah is One, and unto Him we surrender."

Qur'an, Surah 29 Ayat 46

WHITHER JUSTICE & RULE OF LAW IN MALAYSIA?

Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin

SEVEN SENSIBLE QUESTIONS ABOUT ARREST OF EX MUFTI DR. ASRI

Seven questions on the arrest of Asri

Letter from Dr Chandra Muzaffar dated 4th Nov 2009, published on line by Malaysiakini HERE

"I refer to the Malaysiakini report Ex-Perlis mufti freed on bail: Jais feels the heat?

The arrest of former Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin raises disturbing questions.

One, isn't it unjust to arrest a person and take him to court while investigations on him are still on-going?

Two, doesn't this smack of arbitrariness and high-handedness, and doesn't it erode established judicial norms and the rule of law?

Three, wasn't the deployment of an extraordinarily large number of Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (Jais) staff and police personnel a show of force which was tantamount to abuse of power?

Four, since Asri has been giving talks in Selangor and elsewhere for a while now, what was the reason for arresting him only at this point in time?

Five, was the arrest a well-orchestrated move by certain religious authorities, backed by some Muslim NGOs, to dissuade the federal government from going ahead with the appointment of Asri as the new head of a potentially influential Islamic 'dakwah' foundation, Yadim?

Six, if this was the motive, doesn't it show that there are religious institutions and groups in the country that are intolerant of views on Islam which are different from theirs, however humane and rational some of these views may be, and however well-grounded they are in the Qur'an?

Seven, isn't such intolerance a betrayal of the respect for differences of opinion, and for dissent, embodied in Quranic thought and in the practice of the Prophet?

It is important to ask these questions because Asri's crude and coarse treatment echoes the authoritarianism of certain groups in other parts of the Muslim world that has led to tension and conflict.

This is why any attempt by any group to monopolise religion and marginalise alternative voices should be checked immediately.

It was one of the causes of the closing of the Muslim mind in past centuries and was partly responsible for the decline of Islamic civilisation."

I put forward three more important questions:-

  1. Are there hidden dark forces behind the arrest of Dr. Asri?
  2. Is it Selangor UMBO and the federal BN / UMNO government who are the puppet masters of some folks in JAIS.
  3. Is the UMNO ex MB Khir Toyo the covert instigator, the 'batu api'?

To me this smells like a component part of the insidious UMNO plot to overthrow the opposition state government of Selangor.

So the answers to the above three questions may be 'YES'!

DUBAI, UAE TO APPOINT FEMALE MUFTIS

WHEN WILL THAT HAPPEN IN MALAYSIA I WONDER?

BASED ON THE RECENT EVENTS WHEN THE FORMER MUFTI OF PERLIS STATE [Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin] WAS DETAINED, THERE MAY BE VERY LITTLE PROGRESSIVE THOUGHT IN MALAYSIA, HOW SAD!
Read about it by clicking HERE

Gulf Arab Emirate of Dubai plans to appoint female muftis by the end of next year in an unprecedented step that could trigger opposition from some Muslim conservatives.

It sounds like a postive move to me.

Nijab to be banned

Women wearing Nijab

Egypt's highest Muslim authority has said he will issue a religious edict against the growing trend for full women's veils, known as the niqab.

Sheikh Mohamed Tantawi, dean of al-Azhar university, called full-face veiling “a custom that has nothing to do with the Islamic faith.”

The practice is widely associated with more radical trends of Islam.

It is a growing trend across the world, this includes Malaysia too
