Ooi Chuan Aun 黄泉安; (born 1956), better known as Jeff Ooi, is an IT consultant by profession, a blogger, photographer and recently a politician.
Coming from a small town in the northern Malaysian state of Kedah , he was brought up among rural teenagers, especially Malay boys.
This experience has given him a good understanding of the politics of pluralism in the countryside as well as familiarity with Malay music and poetry, which sometimes help to add colour to his blogging.

On 11th January 2007, Jeff Ooi, was, alongside well known blogger Ahiruddin Attan, sued by the New Straits Times Press (NSTP).
The Malaysian court ordered him to remove more than 10 postings on his blog that the NSTP claimed were libellous, by 17 January.
Jeff Ooi is prohibited from republishing those postings in his blog, or elsewhere on the internet, until the disposal of the defamation suit filed by NSTP.
These lawsuits were the first of their kind in Malaysia.
