Common Sense and Unity Prevail in Perak

After the political fiasco of yesterday, the Perak state executive council make-up appears to have been agreed with the coalition comprising of the three political party (DAP, PKR & PAS) coalition agreeing on the division of the ten state executive councillor posts.

Reliable sources, have, according to the Star on-line, informed that the leaders of the three parties have signed an agreement for a six-three-one (6-3-1) formula after they met on Thursday night.

The DAP will be allocated 6 posts, followed by three for PKR and one for PAS.

In the recent elections, the coalition trounced BN, the DAP won 18 state seats, PKR seven whilst PAS won six.

The 10 posts include the two deputy Mentri Besar positions which will go to the DAP and PKR.

The source said the party chiefs had signed a letter agreeing to this

In addition, the source is reported as saying that all 31 state assemblymen also signed a letter of agreement consenting to the formula for the formation of the coalition government and they agreed to the appointment of Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin (PAS) as Mentri Besar of Perak.

One believes that the Perak royalty want to be sure that the selected MB has the confidence of the majority of the state assembly, as the state constitution decrees. The Siber Party of Malaysia (M) will be ever vigilant.
