A Child, her Dog & God

This is a narration about one of the kindest things a person could do, the thoughtfulness, compassion and kind heartedness of this unknown person is something to be treasured and followed by us all.

There is a beautiful selfless and compassionate, anonymous soul working in the dead letter office of the United States Postal Service, read the story below, which I received via email recently.

Meredith with her beloved Abbey

“Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.
She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her.
I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:”

“Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog?
She died yesterday and is with you in heaven.
I miss her very much.
I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim.
I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog.
I really miss her.

Love, Meredith”

“We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.
Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.
That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.
A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it.
Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies'. Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:”

“Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help.
I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick any more.
Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart.
Abbey loved being your dog.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me.
What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
Love,
God”

MURDEROUS MALAYSIA , MANY MURDERS MANIFESTING MALE FIDE

Getting away with murder in Malaysia is not that uncommon, if you are well connected you can get actually away with cold blooded murder in Malaysia, read the article from Asia Sentinal by clicking HERE, then you will know what goes on in Malaysia.

read also HERE

It is utterly disgusting, so shameful, undoubtedly unjust and downright despicable, but if has happened, and no doubt will continue to happen, in Malaysia while the BN / UMNO government is in power with apparent impunity and immunity!

Male Fide means:

bad faith, noun: intentional dishonest act by not fulfilling legal or contractual obligations, misleading another, entering into an agreement without the intention or means to fulfill it, or violating basic standards of honesty in dealing with others. Most states recognize what is called "implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing" which is breached by acts of bad faith, for which a lawsuit may be brought (filed) for the breach (just as one might sue for breach of contract).

bad faith noun abjection, abjectness, abscondence, apostasy, artifice, base conduct, betrayal, betrayment, breach of faith, broken faith, broken promise, collaboration, complicity, connivance, cozenage, debasement, deceit, deceitfulness, deception, defalcation, defection, delusion, delusiveness, dereliction, dereliction of duty, deviation from rectitude, deviousness, disaffection, disavowal, dishonesty, dishonor, disingenuousness, disloyalty, disobedience, double-dealing, duplicity, fallaciousness, false pretension, false swearing, falseheartedness, falseness, forswearing, fraud, fraudulency, furtiveness, guile, hypocrisy, ignominy, improbity, indiscretion, infidelity, insidiousness, insincerity, inveracity, lack of conscience, lack of fidelity, lack of principle, lack of probity, mala fides, malversation, mendaciousness, mendacity, misfeasance, misrepresentation, obliquity, perfidiousness, perfidy, pettifoggery, pretense, pretext, punic faith, recantation, recreancy, reprobacy, sedition, spuriousness, subterfuge, subversion, subversive activity, suppression of truth, surreptitiousness, traitorousness, treacherousness, treachery, turpitude, unauthenticity, unconscientiousness, underhand dealing, unfairness, unfaith, unfaithfulness, unfaithworthiness, ungenuineness, unloyalty, unsteadfastness, untrueness, untrustiness, untruthfulness, unveraciousness, unveracity, venality, violation of allegiance, violation of duty

OF BAD FAITH: Perhaps a most apt expression for BN / UMNO?

FOR SALE: 1Malaysia

Najib

SPECTATORS WERE EVIDENTLY PAID TO ATTEND THE LONG DELAYED LAUNCHING OF AN ALREADY SINKING SHIP NAMED 1MALAYSIA.

Democracy my arse!

In order to ensure that Najib had a big attendance for his 1Malaysia launching road show in Ipoh, it appears that UMNO employed the often used "Rent-a-crowd' tactic, and provided buses to bus-in spectators who were given a monitory reward (bribe) to attend the road show and listen to Najib prattle and pontificate.

Najib Razak at long last launched his highly-publicised and still largely mysterious and undefined “1 Malaysia” concept before a crowd of at least 30,000 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on 18 October 2009.

However, according to some spectators, they had been bused-1n after collecting RM30 coupons, which they exchanged for cash upon arrival at the venue.

If this is not bribery and corruption I do not know what it is!

VOTE FOR BN / UMNO, SUPPORT THE RICH & INFAMOUS

One Example of UMNO' Squandering the Peoples' Money.

RM1.9 million ringgit squandered by UMNO on luxurious overseas vacations pretending to be study visits (Cuti Lawatan Sambil Belajar)

AFTER a gruelling seven days, the public inquiry into possible misuse of funds by Wives of Selangor Elected Representatives Charity Organisation (BALKIS) ended yesterday, leaving those who attended reeling from the revelations.

For more than a week, details of money spent on exotic trips, overseas souvenir- shopping expeditions and gifts for guests attending glitzy functions, kept members of the Selangor State Assembly’s Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) riveted as the figures continued to rise.

The inquiry is the first to be conducted by a State Legislative Assembly in the country. Other States are widely expected to follow suit following the conclusion of the Balkis inquiry.

Yesterday, PNSB chief executive officer Khairiyah Abu Hassan dropped a bombshell when she further revealed how much the State-owned conglomerate had forked out for former Selangor Menteri Khir Toyo and his family’s expenses during the overseas technical visits.

She also drew hoots of laughter when she explained the reasons for the trips.

1. Jakarta and Jogjakarta, Indonesia - 20-24 April 2003
Total cost:
RM201,452

Khir Toyo, his wife, daughter and maid also went on the trip. The purpose was for delegates to study Indonesia ’s batik production, which was supposed to lead to the opening of a batik factory in Selangor.

Cost of airfare for Khir, his wife, daughter and maid:
RM37,695
Miscellaneous costs incurred by the delegates
RM34,404

Spent on two-day rental of a limousine/ Mercedes Benz in Jakarta : RM5,800
Paid for two-day rental of a limousine/ Mercedes Benz in Jogjakarta :
RM5,000

2. Morocco and Paris : 17-24 Dec 2004
(inclusive of four-day transit in Dubai )
Total cost:
RM900,000

The trip, attended by Khir, his wife, children and maid as well as PNSB delegates, was to study Islamic architecture, which could be adopted in Selangor.

The group, which had a reconnaissance trip beforehand, also visited Paris Disneyland to generate ideas for a theme park in Bagan Lalang, Sepang.

They bought tickets to enter the theme park and did not meet any Disneyland representatives.

Cost of the recce team trip: RM366,000

Cost of official trip: RM416,000
Airfare: RM366,000
Ground arrangements RM420,000
City travel: RM70,000
Other expenses RM43,000

3. Honolulu (Hawaii) & Orlando (Florida) - 23 Dec 2007 to 1 Jan 2008
Total cost: RM646,841
Additional cash taken: RM101,000

A technical study on the Bagan Lalang theme park was also the pivotal reason for the trip. The group, comprising Dr Khir, his family and PNSB delegates, bought tickets to DisneyWorld and again did not meet any Disneyland representatives.

A tour guide instead took them around. Cost of Khir’s luxury suite: RM110,000

Cost of six single superior rooms for the delegates: RM171,000
Cost of one twin-sharing room RM24,800

Khairiyah claimed that on the trips, Khir and his wife flew only first class.

The itinerary of the US trip also included visits to Miami Beach , island tours, dinner cruises and a Honolulu city tour.

Khir and his wife, supposed to have been key witnesses, failed to turn up for any of the inquiry proceedings.

Khir would be referred to the Committee of Privileges while Zaharah could be prosecuted under Section 5 of the Contempt of the House Act 2008. The inquiry’s findings will be presented at the next sitting of the Selangor State Assembly in July.

The Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission is expected to investigate possible criminal breach of trust (CBT) once Selcat concludes its findings and police conclude their investigations.

11 Sept 2009 - Khir Toyo was called
for questioning by MACC but he was let go after some greetings and minor questions. Why didn't they keep him overnight like Teoh Beng Hock and then see if he jumps to his death from Plaza Masalam?

Bagan Pinang by-election is tomorrow, on 11 October 2009.

If you love Barisan Nasional / UMNO, then vote for UMNO in Bagan Pinang.

They will also love you for giving up your hard-earned tax ringgit so that they can enjoy a luxurious elite lifestyle, travelling all over the world and living like kings without having to work for a single cent.

Be a good loyal patriotic Malaysian citizens - Vote BN in Bagan Pinang on 11 October 2009, if you want to give UMNO more money to line their own pockets and to squander!

Sodomy charges are 'Pathetic' Anwar Ibrahim says

Anwar Ibrahim

Malaysia's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim calls the sodomy charges against him 'pathetic' but he says the opposition is making plans for the future should he be convicted or die.

Anwar told this to an audience on Monday 5th October 2009 at Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC, USA, saying that there is no evidence to support charges that he sodomised a 24-year-old male former aide last year.

He also said in a news report, that Malaysia is dealing with 'semi-authoritarian rule' and therefore the opposition must plan for a possible conviction or his death.

Anwar also said, Malaysia must also shake off 'race-based politics' and move to a true democracy.

Isa Samad - tainted by his past deeds

ISA>

At least two Chinese-language dailies have been reportedly ordered not to report on Isa Samad's suspension from UMNO, after he was found guilty of buying votes during the party polls in 2004.

Isa was was suspended in June 2005 from the party for six years, guilty of several charges of political corruption, but subsequently the sentence was reduced by half to three years.

Read all about it HERE, HERE & HERE

In his personal blog, UMNO veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has made the following sobering and sensible conclusions:

Mindful of the signal sent by the voters of Permatang Pasir and all the elections since March 8, the leadership should now be especially careful in selecting our candidate for Bagan Pinang.

Beyond winning and losing political battles, the party leadership should step back and think about how their choice of candidate reflects upon the party and ultimately upon their own integrity.

Nothing says more about what we stand for and who we are than the kinds of leaders we champion.

If Umno continues to field tainted candidates, the public might justly conclude that it would be better for the the country that Umno lost.

In our now dangerously divided society, it is important not just that elections be won, but that they be won with honour and by honourable individuals; that is to say, in a way that inspires the public’s trust in our institutions and enlarges our common sense of justice.

Only then can the results of elections unite rather than divide us.

That is our larger challenge.”

Isa Samad is undoubtedly a tainted candidate, he also does not appear have credibility and therefore does not deserve to win the by-election in Bagang Pinang,.

However, should he win, he will be likely to be more of a liability than an asset to the causes of unity, transparency and the eradication of bribery, corruption and money politics in Malaysia.

As a result the people of Bagan Pinang in particular, the people of the state of Negeri Sembilan and the people Malaysia as a whole will suffer.

His tenure as MB of Negeri Sembilan was, according to many, a period of stagnation, doom and gloom for the state, development and growth was slow and selective and self-centred cronyism, bribery and corruption appeared to flourish.

Malaysia - Listen to a Racist Radical & a Rational Realist

BBC Radio 4's Crossing Continents travelled to Malaysia to explore the divide among races and spoke to the new generation of Malaysians pushing for more equality after decades of a system of racial preferences.

This extract features reporter Mukul Devichand speaking to Sue, a Malay Muslim.
Religion is important to her and this has influenced her views on race.

"If all of the Muslims would actually practice Islam like the Prophet did, then I don't think the Chinese and Indians would have a problem with the Islamic system " Sue.

To get a feeling of how things are in Malaysia with regards to racial harmony, tolerance, mutual understanding, open mindedness and unity, please listen to the views expressed in this video.

Now get the radical, ultra racist, intolerant, divisive, selfish and narrow minded view, by watching the video below.

"This is our land basically. We have already given one special privilege to the non-Malays, that is citizenship" Luqman.

This extract features reporter Mukul Devichand, of
BBC Radio 4's Crossing Continents, speaking to Luqman, a Malay student leader at the Universiti Teknologi MARA, who last year led a street protest after an official from the opposition held State of Selangor, remarked that perhaps one in 10 university places at MARA should be opened to other races.

PADANG EARTHQUAKE, A LITTLE HELP FROM MALAYSIA

NOT TOO SMART - Too little help, too late, with too many journalists and cameramen!

Padang, was devastated by a powerful earthquake on Wednesday 30th September 2009. The undersea earthquake that hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra had an epicentre only 50 kilometres away from the city, which is the largest in West Sumatra.

The Special Malaysian Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) reportedly began work at the ravaged Mariani International Hotel and Jakarta Hotel in earthquake hit Padang only on Sunday 4th October 2009.

The 25-member team, it was reported, was sure that no more victims were trapped beneath the rubble of the collapsed Mariani International Hotel located on Jalan Bundo Kandung, Padang .

Subsequently they then began scouring the ruined remains of Jakarta Hotel to determine if there were still any victims there.

The SMART team arrived on Saturday 3rd October 2009, together with a medical team made up of 31 personnel from the armed forces, the Health Ministry and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.

Accompanied by 22 journalists, photographers and TV cameramen, the SMART team evidently pitched tents at a clearing beside the collapsed Selasih Hospital, to be used as their operation centre.

Is this a sincere attempt to help, or just a show for the media circus?

A rescue team of 25 + medical team of 31 = 56 personnel, surely doesn't need a group of 22 Malaysian media folks as hangers-on.

22 more rescuers and medical workers would have been far more useful.

UPDATE:

PADANG: International rescuers are planning to end their operations searching for survivors of the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that hit West Sumatra province of Indonesia last week, as the first 75 hours-limit to finding disaster survivors passed.

According to a report by China's Xinhua news agency, United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) official J. Seen said on Monday 5th October 2009, that international rescuers would officially end their operation after a local government announcement later the same day (Monday).

POSTCODES, THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY

Do you C it?

CLICK HERE TO READ: Modern postcodes are 50 years old

The postcode should the fundamental, the essential element of a postal address.

It should be a unique, universal identifier, which unambiguously identifies the addressee's exact locality and assists in the transmission and sorting of mail items.

In some countries, like the UK, Germany, Canada, etc. a single postcode identifies just a few addresses, all that is needed on the envelope, as a minimum, is the building number, or name, and the postcode.

Fictitious example of a postcode for the UK:

LL9 6YJ

If only this (28, LL9 6YJ) was on the envelope, the letter would arrive at the correct place.

At present, 117 Universal Postal Union member countries use postcodes as part of their addressing systems, some are good, some are bad and some are downright ugly.

eg.

GOOD POSTCODE SYSTEM

United Kingdom

The estimated population of the UK was 61,383,000 in mid 2008.

The UK has 1.7 million postcodes covering about 28 million addresses.

The Royal Mail on-line postcode checker receives about 4.5 million hits a month

Each UK postcode covers an average of just 15 addresses

The first postal districts were introduced in London in 1857

Even Father Christmas (Santa Claus) has his own UK postcode -

SAN TA1

Everything from insurance premiums, route mapping information, on-line form filling to satellite navigation systems now rely on the UK postcodes.

No one in Malaysia relies on the postcode as it is virtually useless.

The country is just playing lip-service by having a postcode, such superficial and misleading actions have sadly become the hallmark of Malaysia.
