Anwar Ibrahim has been released on police bail this morning, Thursday 17th July 2008, after having his statement recorded the night before, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar reportedly stated.
Anwar was reported to be safely back at his home in Bukit Segambut in Kuala Lumpur at 10.05am. (02:05 GMT)
