“Bandar Tun Razak ke Kulim tidaklah jauh
Kuala Kangsar Bandar Diraja
26 Ogos di Permatang Pauh
16 September di Putrajaya”
(Bandar Tun Razak to Kulim not that far
Kuala Kangar is the
26 August in Permatang Pauh
16 September in Putrajaya)
So reads the ‘pantun’ (Malay poem) printed on the banner which is hung alongside the railway tracks by the side of the main road in Kubang Ulu, Penanti, an area regarded as a stronghold of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.
The banner [courtesy of PKR’s Bandar Tun Razak division?], refers to Pakatan Rakyat’s assured position that the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election an initial formality and that Anwar’s return to Parliament will thereafter lead to Pakatan Rakyat’s (People’s Coalition) eventual take over of the Federal Government of Malaysia.
